FAQ

Overheating can be caused by excessive load, cooling fan failure or power supply problems.

One should:
• Switch the motor off in order to prevent permanent damage.
• Check that the fan is working properly and that the cooling system is clean.
• If operating with a frequency converter, check the minimum frequency/speed.
• Check the switching frequency for the motor operation mode and change the design if necessary
• Check the design and change the required motor power if necessary
• In the case of a motor with a brake, check the brake
• Check the installation site for cooling
• Contact the STERNET service department for diagnosis and repair.

Typical symptoms include:
• Excessive noise or vibration during operation.
• Increase in motor temperature.
• Decline in performance.

If you notice these symptoms, contact the STERNET service department immediately.

The motor may fail to start due to power supply problems, damage to the winding or controls failure.

In that case:
• Check the supply voltage and the condition of the wires and fuses.
• Check the motor connection at the terminal board
• In the case of a motor with a brake, check the brake
• In the case of the Back Stop option, check the direction of rotation
• Contact the service department to arrange for a detailed diagnosis.
